Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy

Okay, first off, SORRY! None of us have been on in like...FOREVER! But lets take a few lines of this blog and start with a friendly re-welcoming!
HAPPY NEW YEAR for the year of 2011, I hope all of your resolutions come true and you stick to them TRULY!!! I hope this year is as...fun as last year I guess I could say, even though this year for me is really hurtfull already (I'm sick and my heart was broken so..yeah). Anyways, enjoy 2011 and I hope to see a good year followed into 2012! :D
Alright, now moving on to Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy.
The books were written in Sweden and translated into English not so long ago. You may have seen the interesting titles and cool bookcovers while browsing book shelves at book stores. If so, then you must recognize the same movie titles and the awesome movie cover art. I'm talking about THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO . It's the first book in the Trilogy and it's AMAZING!!! My version of the summary is this: Lisbeth Salander, a professional computer hacker, joins teams and helps out magazine journalist Mikael Blomkvist on his quest to save Harriet Vanger, a girl that has been missing for 40 years. Her uncle thinks that someone in the family has murdered her and hires Mikael Blomkvist to help him recover the truth on a myster from 40 years ago.
This book (and movie) is ACTION PACKED!! and a great read. If you love good crime solving books, you will devour this one with great taste!
The sequel to this amazing debut novel by Stieg Larsson is THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE . I'm still on book one but I saw both movies (and am waiting for the third movie to come out Jan. 25th, 2011) and it was about Lisbeth Salander and how her past comes back to haunt her as she set fire to her father whom beat her mother to a state of him knocking her to the floor. Lisbeth, as a child, grabbed a carton full of gasoline, threw it on her father, struck the match, and watched him fry. But, someone wants her dead, and she just so happens to get framed for murder, her fingerprints alllll over the murder weapon. But Lisbeth didn't do it, she knows that, and so does Mikael Blomkvist. But before the wanted girl is caught, she must unravel the mystery and find out who is framing her. *AN UNEXPECTED TWIST IS IN THIS!!! IT'S JAW DROPPING MATERIAL!!!*
I have all three books in hardcover (I prefer them that way) and I love them all! The third and final book in the trilogy is THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST . Now, the original summaries for books 2 and 3 give spoilers so I used my own for book 2 and will for book 3. So, in book three, what happens in THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO , Lisbeth Salander will end once and for all.
GAHH! SUSPENSFULL RIGHT!?!?! anyways, you need to need to need to need to NEEEEED TOOOOOO check these out or browse them online at http://www.stieglarsson.com/. The cover art is down below and I must say if you want to hear a chilling death, follow the link because Stieg Larsson's death doesn't seem to me that it was just a heart attack. Because right after he handed in the three manuscripts in the trilogy, shortly after, he died. Follow the link to just look around and browse, trust me, you will find them interesting! Here is the cover art below...

Until next time you guys, be safe and have a HAPPY 2011!!

Charlaine Harris' "Sookie Stackhouse Novels"

Ever since book one (DEAD UNTIL DARK), the series has sky rocketed into a great phenomenon many love today. Weather you know the series by THE SOOKIE BOOKS or HBO's original TV series, TRUE BLOOD,Charlaine Harris is most known for her famous southern heroin from southern Louisiana who serves as a cocktail waitress @ Merlotte's Bar to pull her money up and keep the payments on her house and car nice and paid. But when a dark mysterious man walks into the bar and sits in her section one night, her whole world is twisted into an unforgettable story that many love to read and read again. Living in a world where vampires are "out of the coffin" as they laughingly put it, vampires are now one of us and live off of TruBlood, a synthetic blood created by the japanese to satisfy all their needs so they don't prey on humans. Sookie Stackhouse is a middle aged woman who just finds her way into danger every time, and is there to solve the case. The following books are: (The covers are below probably in no particular order)
1.) Dead Until Dark
2.) Living Dead Until Dark
3.) Club Dead
4.) Dead To The World
5.) Dead As A Doornail
6.) Definitely Dead
7.) All Together Dead
8.) From Dead To Worse
9.) Dead And Gone
10.) Dead In The Family
11.) Dead Reckoning (COMING MAY 2011)

After reading the very first book, you will crave for book 2 and so on until you reach the end and beg for more! With every step Charlaine takes Sookie, readers will enjoy them. The series is very good, awesomely created and I love the world Charlaine has created. I wish I could live there today, haha. The books are for ages....I'd say 14+, then again that's me. Read them and enjoy them :)

Stephen King's "DUMA KEY"

So, moving away from vampires and the supernatural for teens, here comes a good read by the horror master of them all: STEPHEN KING. :D He has written many novels, and is loved ALL over the world! In this horror novel, for young adults and up, comes a great thrill ride that took him 607 pages to tell in one great masterpiece!

(FROM INSIDE FLAP OF BOOK COVER) "No more than a dark pencil line on a blank page. A horizon line, maybe. But also a slot for blackness to slip through. . . A terrible construction site accident takes Edgar Freemantle's right arm and scrambles his memory and his mind, leaving him with little but rage as he begins the ordeal of rehabilitation. A marriage that produced two lovely daughters suddenly ends, and Edgar begins to wish he hadn't survived the injuries that could have killed him. He wants out. His psychologist, Dr. Kamen, suggests a "geographic cure," a new life distant from the Twin Cities and the building business Edgar grew from scratch. And Kamen suggests something else. "Edgar, does anything make you happy?" "I used to sketch." "Take it up again. You need hedges...hedges against the night." Edgar leaves Minnesota for a rented house on Duma Key, a stunningly beautiful, eerily undeveloped splinter of the Florida coast. The sun setting into the Gulf of Mexico and the tidal rattling of shells on the beach call out to him, and Edgar draws. A visit from Ilse, the daughter he dotes on, starts his movement out of solitude. He meets a kindred spirit in Wireman, a man reluctant to reveal his own wounds, and then Elizabeth Eastlake, a sick old woman whose roots are tangled deep in Duma Key. Now Edgar paints, sometimes feverishly, his exploding talent both a wonder and a weapon. Many of his paintings have a power that cannot be controlled. When Elizabeth's past unfolds and the ghosts of her childhood begin to appear, the damage of which they are capable is truly devastating. The tenacity of love, the perils of creativity, the mysteries of memory and the nature of the supernatural - Stephen King gives us a novel as fascinating as it is gripping and terrifying."
A gripping tale of awesomeness, a gripping tale of terror comes a great new one from the master himself. It's a MUST READ from Justin Barnes, lol, and a MUST READ to all Stephen King fans who haven't found their way to "DUMA KEY". If you love Stephen King, weather it's his movies (carrie, it, the mist, needful things, etc. etc.) then you MUST read this book!! It's a full 10 of 5 stars!!!

The Vampire Diaries - L. J. Smith

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was originally a 4 book saga that had been published in 1991. Yep, all 4 books were published in the same year! How cool!?
Anyways, the first book in the saga is called THE AWAKENING, and its the story about "The most haunting love triangle of all. Two vampire brothers, one good and one evil, are in love with the same beautiful girl. Stefan meets Elena, and falls for her instantly. But he swears never to approach her because of his dark secret. On the other hand, Elena has sworn to make Stefan hers or die."
It was around 200 pages, and just after that, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, VOLUME 2: THE STRUGGLE came out.
THE STRUGGLE: "Damon is haunting Elena’s footsteps; coaxing and coercing her by turns. Stefan desperately tries to protect her from his brother. And Elena is having her blood drawn by two separate vampires. Meanwhile Caroline plots to expose Elena in front of the entire town. Can things get worse? They do, when Elena drives too fast over an unsafe bridge and drowns."
But, the story wasn't over yet, when the third volume, THE FURY, came out.
THE FURY: "It’s happened. Elena wakens as a vampire. She belongs to Damon, now, and to his world. The town mourns her as dead while she haunts the Old Wood by night. But by the time she remembers that Stefan is her true love, a new and powerful enemy appears. This is the last battle; and the only way Elena can win it is to sacrifice herself."
But now, the author of TVD, L. Jane Smith, has began revamping her famous vampire series. The continuation series is called THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: THE RETURN PART ONE: NIGHTFALL, THE RETURN PART TWO: SHADOW SOULS, THE RETURN PART THREE: MIDNIGHT.
THE RETURN PART ONE: NIGHTFALL -Elena is alive again and she's not quite herself. She's like an angel. Damon gets overcomed by some demon and does all these things to torture his friends and when Elena is herself again she tries to stop him. Stephan leaves like half-way through and everyone suspects Damon.
THE RETURN PART TWO: SHADOW SOULS - A penitent Damon, along with Elena and Matt, follows Stefan into the darkest dimension in an attempt to set him free from the prison he has been tricked into instead of the salvation he was seeking. When Matt see's Elena and Damon getting too close he turns back and sends Bonnie and Meredith to inform Elena what's happening back home. Bonnie and Meredith join Elena as all three are forced to enter as slaves; the chained and leashed property of a vampire - Damon. Elena Gilbert is once again at the center of magic and danger beyond her imagination. And once more, Stefan isn't there to help. Elena is forced to entrust her life to Damon, the handsome but deadly vampire who wants Elena, both her body and soul. They must journey to the slums of the Dark Dimension, a world where vampires and demons roam free, but humans must live as slaves of their supernatural masters. Stefan is imprisoned here, and only Elena can free him by finding the two hidden halves of the kitsune key to his cell. Damon, Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith must all fit into the world of the Dark Dimension and venture into it's deadly high society. Only by these means may they be able to find Stefan's keys to release him and then Elena will be able to reunite with her soulmate. While this is going on, back home Matt's hiding from the law and trying to fight the evil kitsune who are destroying the very core of their community. Matt enlists the help of the local doctor and her nephew, the boarding house owner, and Isobel's grandmother, who was once a priestess, to keep their home together until Elena, Stefan, and Damon return. Elena later finds out the gift she got from the Kitsune is a flower that can turn a vampire into human. When getting back to the boarding house Damon's curiosity gets the better of him and the flower turns him human with one smell. The flower was supposed to be for Stefan, who is now stuck as a vampire, and is trying to make a better relationship for him and Elena. Damon, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with humanity and is now stuck a human.Stefan and Damon only wish they could switch places (Damon as a vampire, and Stefan as a human).
THE RETURN PART THREE: MIDNIGHT - There is no summary yet because this book is set to be on shelves March 15th, 2011
If you go to www.LJaneSmith.net, you will see that the author, L.J.Smith, is planning on writing more of the TVD franchise. She even says on her site that "The Vampire Diaries 8-10 - "Not out yet, although the first is written. Will come out in single book hardback. I want to call them PHANTOM, EVENSONG, and ETERNITY, but of course, my publisher may have other ideas." - L.J. Smith.
There is even THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: STEFAN'S DIARY out now.
This book series has been turned into a TV show, and the first season is out on DVD now! The second season is in production as we speak, and only they know what's going to happen, as does L.J. Smith on the TVD book series.
Here are the images of the books by L.J. Smith. They don't go in order like I wrote them in this passage. Just make sure you check out the covers and what they read so you know which book the picture is, and enjoy!
